Recessed Ceiling Lights and Spot Lights
Recessed ceiling lights and spot lights are now a very popular modern lighting option and when considering these, it is important to ensure that you have enough space in the ceiling void for the recessed fitting.
If you require fire rated ceiling lights, these must conform with Fire Buildings Regulations Part B BS475:Part21:1987 (Fire tests on buildings and structures. Method of determination of the fire resistance of load bearing elements of construction).
Recessed light fixtures are ideal to save space if the ceiling height in a room is minimal. They are also a good option if spots need to be located on beams.
Take a look at our traditional French spots in antique brass or wood finishes. There is now an excellent selection of recessed fittings and spots that are either in a fixed position or directional.
Directional fittings enable the light to be positioned in a way that sends the greatest amount of light to a given area. They can be used as a tool to highlight special objects or paintings.
There are also lots of energy saving light fittings available now such as low energy compact fluorescents, LEDS and cold cathode lamps. These all help reduce electricity consumption and environmental impact.
Recessed lights are ideal for the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. Contemporary designs are available with crystal, brushed chrome and polished chrome fittings. Use these around the perimeters of rooms to create a super modern look, or position them to direct banks of light in the kitchen to where you need it.
