Contemporary Indoor Lighting - Home Office

When choosing contemporary indoor lighting for a home office or study it is important to assess the tasks which you are going to undertake within the room. You may need a concentrated, specifically targeted light source for close work in addition to overall lighting.

If you have more than one desk or workstation you will need to have higher concentrations of light in these areas. Halogen spots in the ceiling are particularly useful as you can direct the light to exactly where it is needed.

It is important to get the lighting levels high enough to avoid glare on computer monitors which will lead to eye strain. In addition to ceiling lights it is a good idea to add secondary forms of lighting into the room through table lamps, floor lamps or desk clamp lamps.

Anglepoise do a good selection of fully movable lamps which can be directed close to working areas and then pushed away when not needed. Ask us about Anglepoise options. Alternatively slim halogen standard and table lamps can give a sharp bright light unobtrusively within the room.
